American Express offers both credit cards - where you may potentially borrow to your limit and make minimum repayments - and charge cards, the balance of which has to be paid off in full every month.
Search for the cheapest credit cards and apply online.
American Express credit cards come in a variety of different forms - many of them have links to other organisations. For example, there is the American Express Nectar card, British Airways card, and BMA card. American Express also offers the Red card and Platinum 'Moneyback' credit card.
As well as receiving preferential treatment and rewards from the relevant affiliated company - free Airmiles for example or the being entered into a monthly prize draw for related products - the majority of American Express credit cards come with extras such as free travel insurance, a global helpline for assistance when abroad, fraud protection and insurance on purchases made on the card.
Interest rates and any 0% interest free periods differ according to the credit card, your earnings, and your credit rating. Some American Express credit cards come with an annual fee. All interest rates are priced on a variable basis.
