Yorkshire Bank launches student package

Yorkshire Bank has announced details of its 2007 package for students. The package, which has all the advantages of a normal current account, offers an overdraft facility of up to £1,000 in the first year and up to £3,000 in the remaining years of a course, as well as an interest rate of 3.3% on credit balances.
In addition, students will be eligible for special travel discounts through Apollo Travel Direct's Holiday Line, the opportunity to access top events with £100 to spend at Ticketmaster and a two for one cinema card to offset entertainment costs.

Also available is a fee free credit card as well as permitted withdrawals of up to £350. Meanwhile, 24 hour banking will allow students to view balances, make payments and transfer money with telephone and internet banking services.
The account is open to all students aged 17 years and over who are in possession of a formal offer letter from a recognised higher educational institution.
